The RI Association of Emergency Managers and the RI Emergency Management Agency are proud to announce that the Annual Preparedness Conference is back for the first in-person conference since 2019! This year’s theme is The Rhode Ahead: “Planning for the Future”. The conference will be held at the new “state of the art” East Providence High School on August 12th, 2022, from 9 am – 4:30 pm. Registration will open at 8 am. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Join us for the largest statewide gathering of emergency management professionals, partners, and stakeholders in RI! The Conference speakers and presenters will provide planning strategies for the future and discuss how our past experiences can help us better prepare for what lies ahead.

Our Keynote Speakers are Andrew Burrows, FEMA National Headquarters, Behavior Change Branch Chief, and Henry Walke, MD, MPH, CDC, Director of the Center for Preparedness and Response. Also, Paul Ford, FEMA 1 Deputy Regional Administrator, and Mayor Roberto DaSilva will offer Opening Remarks. Dozens of breakout sessions will be provided by colleagues from all over the country. There will be presentations on local emergency management planning, mass casualty, health planning, women in emergency management, damage assessment and so much more. There is something at the conference for all of the emergency management community and its stakeholders. Please spread the word and help us to make this the most successful conference in years.
